Like any journey, there are always twists and turns. There comes a time when your reach the proverbial fork in the road and you have to decide which way to go.
After over two years of working to adopt a child from Ecuador we have decided to withdraw our application from the Ecuador program. The Ecuadorian adoption program is going through some changes and has become somewhat unreliable. We were beginning to think the likelihood of us getting matched with a healthy child from Ecuador was going to be unlikely.
We have decided to begin the process for domestic infant adoption through Bethany Christian Services. We are excited about this new adventure! We have been working with our social worker and should have our new homestudy finalized by September. I am looking forward to starting to decorate the nursery as we wait to be matched with a birthmother.
