BEFORE YOU WERE BORN,
We Dreamed of you, We Imagined you, We Prayed for you.

NOW THAT YOU ARE HERE,
We Hope for you, We Love you, We Thank God for you.

Giovanni has been spending his summer traveling A LOT for work and this week he ended up in Bloomington, IL, which is about three hours away from St. Louis. Since tomorrow is Giovanni's birthday, I decided to surprise him by coming to Bloomington to pick him and drive back to Kalamazoo with him. Even though I was able to somewhat pull off the surprise (he said he suspected something was going on because I was calling him more than usual throughout the day) things have not gone fully according to my plan. My plan was to meet and surprise him, then once he was done with his test at the plant, drive home with him. But of course things don't always go as planned. There were problems at the plant, things were taking longer than expected, and it looks like we will be staying the night in Bloomington. Which is ok I guess, just was kind of looking forward sleeping in my own bed. The most important thing is that I can't wait to spend the next few days with Giovanni and celebrate his birthday. Oh and I can't wait to see Capone ;)
My dad seems to be settling in a little better, which is somewhat of a relief. He has begun to be a little more sociable with the staff at the nursing facility (anyone who spends just 5mins with him falls in love with him). We have also been able to get him out of his room and go for rides exploring the building. He LOVES going by the child development center they have in the facility. He watches the children during play and nap times. Last Friday he surprised me and went to a happy hour show they were having. Its important to me that what ever time he has left he is able to have the best quality of life as possible!
