We have eagerly waited the month of September for news of our "idoneidad". It looks like we will have to continue our wait. We got news today that Cuenca Referral Committee had, indeed convened, but then disbanded as soon as they heard of the news that all government offices were closing due to the protest in Quito. We had heard earlier today about the protest in Ecuador and of course were concerned for Giovanni's family living there. It wasn't until we got an e-mail from our contact at CHSFS that I began to realize how this all could effect our adoption process. Not only will we have to continue to wait for our approval but any ongoing unrest or governmental changes could completely disrupt our adoption process. It's a scary reality of adoption that I was hoping we would not have to face.
